Blizzard, 22 September 2026

Blizzard’s Forever introduction tells how the dwarves once cared only for riches taken from deep in the earth. Then records surfaced of a god-like race said to have given them life, and an enchanted birthright. Dwarven archaeologists have been scattered across the globe ever since.

In long-standing lore, their home is Ironforge, carved into the snowy mountains of Khaz Modan around a great forge that keeps the city warm.

Blizzard’s 2020 Classic introduction calls them bold, adventurous and hardy, a people who relish battle and exploration alike.

The dwarf shaman

Blizzard’s 22 September article lists Dwarf Shamans among the new combinations. In its Alliance table, the dwarf is the only race that can choose the shaman class.

The article does not describe how dwarven shamans are introduced in the world, and we have not verified a trainer or a first quest. Those details stay off this page until a source describes them.

Beginning

Where the story begins

Starting area in Forever

Blizzard has not named a Forever starting area for the dwarves in the sources we follow, so we do not name one. The maps below show the homeland in lore, not a confirmed first step.

Home in lore

Ironforge, in the mountains of Dun Morogh in Khaz Modan, is the dwarven capital in long-standing lore.
